The Amp for Street Performers

For years, CUBE Street series amplifiers have reinforced buskers across the world. Now, with CUBE Street 2, you get a portable battery-powered amp that has more than enough power to project to the entire crowd. This 10-watt amp is loaded with 6.5-inch speakers and has two channels for lush stereo operation. It has enough I/O to handle any combination of vocal mics, guitars, and basses, along with keyboards and drum machines. Run your signal through the full range of onboard effects to give your performance a final polish. When you start your set, use i-CUBE LINK to record or stream your performance to your platform of choice. Whether you’re a vocalist in need of a PA or a songwriter that needs an amp/PA combo, Sweetwater believes that the BOSS CUBE Street 2 will be a great fit.

Get great sound no matter where you are

If you have a CUBE Street 2 with you, you can transform any environment into a performance-worthy venue. The amp weighs just under 10 pounds and can do some seriously heavy lifting once you load it with eight AA batteries. In addition, it comes equipped with a pair of 6.5-inch speakers to give you a clear and precise sound — whether you’re using it as a PA or amplifier. You can also purchase an optional BT-Dual adapter and enjoy Bluetooth audio playback and a host of wireless controls to take your sets to the next level.

Flexible features

Vocalists and instrumentalists alike will find that the CUBE Street 2 can handle any setup and performance situation. For vocals, plug into the Mic/Instrument channel to access a harmonizer with three settings, 3-band EQ, and reverb to help you sound your best. Next, run your guitar through the Guitar/Mic channel and take advantage of nine built-in amps, EQ, chorus/delay, reverb, and a tuner. Finally, for more extended sets, engage Eco mode to maximize your runtime. No matter your musical style or performance needs, the BOSS CUBE Street 2 is ready to go the distance.

i-CUBE LINK connects with your iOS devices

Roland’s innovative i-CUBE LINK interface gives you easy, quick connectivity with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You get two-way communication with your iOS devices, so you can jam with music tracks and send studio-grade guitar tones directly to your favorite recording apps. The i-CUBE LINK jack may also be used as a regular stereo input, letting you plug in virtually any music player or audio device and play it through your CUBE Street 2. The companion CUBE JAM app (available free from the App Store) turns your iOS device into a versatile jamming, recording, and learning station.

BOSS, Cube , Street 2, Portable 20 watt, Speaker

Good portable speaker for practicing purposes. A portable one for street performances too. Its little over priced anyway !

Great little amp

I knew when I bought it that it was perfect for my apartment and preproduction amp to work on my original material. The sound for its size was excellent when I used my Fender Stratocaster. The sound was clean and the built in effects was perfect for what I need. The vocals were really clear and solid for 10 watts. The looper and effects was once again, just great for making sounds and rhythm play. Remember, this amp is for small rooms but with a line out to my PA, it worked very well. Also I can plug line out to my four track and get some good scratch tracks. The amp itself is solid and durable. It was a great buy for me. Highly recommended for a small amp.

Very "handy" amp for on the go

I was surprised how light and small it was when it arrived, and also worried how it would sound. But what a surprise. This little package packs an umpf with a great sound. I am going to hit the street and put out a bucket for tips. :-) Bit of a learning curve for a tech dinosaur like me but its mostly buttons and not submenus so that is some good news. I highly recommend this bundle of fun and functionality.

Unique and high quality item

I don't believe what you get justifies the price but maybe I'm just critical like that. The unplugged option is great but still demands batteries and having an internal battery May have made it worth the number just south of 400 that it cost but all in all if I could do it over again I would pay a little more for an amp that had a lithium battery or something comparable.

Little hack for extra options

I enjoy my cube street and recently got the BT dual ( wrote a review here and added update on issue I had with streaming)..

The clean channels have most headroom to play louder when I have someone playing a reasonable low volume on drums..since the mic input accepts standard guitar jacks you can plug in there and set switch to instrument and the mic input has even louder possibility since it appears to have more headroom then even clean channel on guitar side...I run clean with booster and that means you can get a lot of headroom volume and then booster puts in the break up at lower volume...if you just use gain and lead crunch channels the sound seems to be compressed and clipped and actually has lower volume and sounds to mushed up to me..altho for bedroom playing you never need it that loud anyway but nice to see the capability is there..

An idea i had that actually worked well was to use my volume pedal and a Y split cable to give me a foot controled A/B channel switch for solo or different sound..I put a splitter out of my looper pedal with patch cable from one Y split into volume pedal and then from volume pedal to mic or guitar input...the other Y split goes to the other 1/4 input..you decide which one goes where, tho the mic switch has to be set to instrument or it sounds tinny and weak tho harmony makes guitar sounds kind of coo ..it also helps if you have BT dual so you can edit mic button and turn harmony into chorus or flanger etc for more tone options.

So basically your volume pedal turns into a kill switch for one cable that will be you "soloing" channel and the other Y split cable sends direct into amp from guitar..

So for solo or dynamic parts you set volume and effect a bit louder or with particular sound you want and then cut sound off with volume pedal and when you want to solo turn on volume pedal and you have that extra kick from your preset volume/effects settings..granted the other channel will still be playing also but at lower volume.

Its not new idea or pro level way to do things or even best equipment for what this is doing but it does give extra option on way to use the cube with stuff I already owned..

I even found the sound with both channels active was something different..with the bluetooth added I change the effect of both channels so it made interesting tones to mess with.. for solo I was running volume pedal into guitar input lead channel with gain at louder volume and it allows you to jump out for the solo while still having the mic channel playing in background at its lower volume setting for a hint of cleaner sound...

Since this amp doesnt seem to offer a channel switch option this is a low budget workaround..
