Perfect for Beginners, Smaller Players, and for Travelers!

Ease into classical playing with the Cordoba Cadete nylon-string acoustic guitar! The Cadete sports a 3/4-sized body with mahogany back and sides and a Canadian cedar top, for great tone in a compact size. The solid African mahogany neck provides great sustain and rich overtones. Whether you're a beginner or just looking for an alternative classical guitar, the Cadete is a great value. And with extra touches like the Indian rosewood binding and gold tuners with pearl buttons, the Cadete looks as good as it plays.

Compact Size

The Cordoba Cadete is easy to play, thanks to the 3/4 body size and 1.88" nut width. The smaller body size makes the Cadete ideal for younger players, or anyone who finds a standard-sized classical nylon guitar just a bit too big. And the 1.88" nut width makes it easier to form chords and change positions, great for new players or those transitioning from a standard acoustic or electric guitar.

Quality Tonewoods

While the Cordoba Cadete is inexpensive, Cordoba did not skimp on the quality. The mahogany back and sides set a powerful tonal foundation for the solid Canadian cedar top, giving you the right blend of deep richness and brilliance. For maximum transfer of vibration, the neck is solid African mahogany - the tone and sustain are amazing, and you'll love how every nuance of your playing is captured. A rosewood fingerboard and bridge complete the elegant look.

Ideal for Beginners

From the easy-to-play size to the great price, the Cordoba Cadete is perfect for beginners. Whether you're new to classical nylon-string guitars, or have never played a guitar in your life, the Cadete gives you the right balance of playability, durability, and great sound. But thanks to the premium tonewoods and great looks, you'll want to keep your Cadete well beyond your first years of playing.

Cordoba Cadete Nylon-string Acoustic Guitar Features:

  • Great-sounding guitar at a perfect size for beginners and students
  • 1.88" nut width is comfortable and easy to play
  • Mahogany back and sides for full-bodied frequency response
  • Solid Canadian cedar top for excellent definition and projection

I am overjoyed with this guitar

I played classical guitar back in the 1970's. Now in old age and arthritic, I didn't know if I'd be able to play again. I was discouraged by my original guitar because it was just too big for me to manage now. A friend saw a photo of me and asked me if I were trying to play a cello? That made me wonder if maybe there were smaller guitars. I hadn't heard of a 3/4 size model, but a search brought me to Sweetwater. The selection and helpfulness and reputation was very encouraging, and I was attracted to this Cordoba model on first sight. It is a beautiful guitar, and it is just the right size for me. It makes me indescribably happy to be able to make music again. The customer service and fast delivery from Sweetwater is really terrific.

Great value!!

I do believe that the Cordoba Cadete is best new guitar that I've ever bought for the money. It's just a joy to play and sounds great. I did adjust the action a little, but I expected that in this price range. I do have a couple of full size classicals, but I seem to always pick up this Cadete because it's so much fun to play.

Great Little Guitar

Cordoba makes quality even in this price range. The action is a little high past the 7th fret, but this is true for almost all accoustics/classicals. You may have to shave the saddle. Also, it doesn't come with a case, which is ok just buy one from Cordoba.

Exactly (more than) what I was looking for

I was looking for a small nylon string guitar for playing around the house. Something cheap, that sounds decent, that doesn't have horrendous action, and that I could use for some tracking, if desired. This thing is great on all fronts. I really like it and have played it every day since I picked it up.

Well made, sounds good!

We bought one several years ago for my wife, a keyboardist who wanted to learn guitar. I sometimes use it for practice as an alternative to my electrics. For the money, it"s hard to beat - well made from good tonewoods and sounds very sweet.
Music background: Experienced guitarist - rock, jazz, worship
