Fire-breathing Monster from LTD

To put it lightly, the LTD M-7HT is a blacked-out beast of a guitar. Featuring a maple through-neck design with an alder body and ebony fingerboard, this guitar has some major sustain and resonance. It features comfortable body contours to make long sets more enjoyable than ever. But when you plug it in, this unassuming instrument's single humbucker roars to life. The Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickup delivers a hard-hitting grind that's perfect for the heaviest riffs. This axe may be blacked out, but the glow-in-the-dark side markers will keep you rocking on the darkest stages. Finally, a string-through-body Hipshot hardtail bridge provides impressive tuning stability and boosts sustain. If you're looking for a guitar that will bring the pain onstage, the LTD M-7HT is the axe for you.

Unleash the beast with a Black Winter humbucker

The full-throated roar of this guitar is created by a single Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickup in the bridge position. Powered by a ceramic magnet and designed specifically for the heaviest of metal genres, this pickup smashes into your rig with a wall of pure fury. With it, you can play earth-shaking riffs, burning leads, or anything in between. To control this beast, you get a single volume knob. But for a little extra tonal variety, a push-pull pot provides coil-splitting abilities. If you need raw power, this pickup is your golden ticket.

Ultra-sleek neck is perfect for swift, nimble players

If you're the type who prefers a slim neck, you'll love the M-7HT. The 3-piece maple through-neck is carved into LTD's Extra Thin "U" profile that players around Sweetwater love. It feels thick enough to fill your hand yet thin enough to stay out of your way during intense soloing. The satin finish on the back of the neck feels extra slick to help you perform high-octane licks and technical maneuvers. A smooth-as-glass Macassar ebony fingerboard and jumbo frets round out the neck's construction. You'll enjoy effortless playability from the moment you pick it up.

Lightweight body won't weigh you down

Some players like the feel of a heavy, vintage axe. But after a long set, a heavy guitar can leave your neck and back feeling worse for wear. That's why LTD made the M-7HT's body wings out of alder. This lightweight tonewood is treasured for its balanced tone and superb resonance. It'll help even out the bright attack of the maple neck without adding too much weight. If you're regularly playing long sets, you'll love the LTD M-7HT.

ESP LTD M-7HT Black Metal Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Through-neck construction boosts sustain
  • Extra Thin "U" neck profile feels sleek and lightning-fast
  • Lightweight alder body is extremely resonant and won't weigh you down onstage
  • Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickup delivers savage high-gain tones
  • Push-pull volume pot activates the coil-splitting ability
  • Hipshot hardtail bridge increases tuning stability and boosts sustain
  • Ebony fingerboard feels mirror-smooth under your fingers
  • Carved body contours increase playing comfort
  • Locking tuners make string changes a breeze

Bleak masterpiece

This guitar was obviously made to do one thing, and it knocks it out of the park. That said, I have no problems getting a highly usable clean tone and the coil split adds a little hidden versatility into the mix as well.

In terms of fit and finish, it was very difficult for me to find even the slightest of things to call out. Anything I could say in the negative in that regard would just be going to ridiculous extremes to even call it a negative. The finish is flawless, the fret ends are free of sharp edges and burrs and are smooth, and all hardware is solid and of good quality (including the ESP branded locking tuners).

The electronics are rock solid, knob is smooth in operation and activating the coil split is a noiseless transition. Speaking of: one of the great things about this having a coil split with only one pickup installed is that you don't get that life destroying 60 cycle hum that leaks through even the tightest noise gates, which while that isn't specifically a feature, it's just a nice benefit of the configuration.

The Seymour Duncan black winter performs very well. I've had one in a guitar before and didn't think it was anything super special, but this time around I feel like it's really well balanced and crushing pickup. I would describe it as a med-high output pickup that has just a touch of modern tone without getting into the realm of being overtly modern, compressed, and clangy. I initially thought I might change it but after hearing it through my rig it's staying right where it is.

I also have to commend this guitar on its comfort and playability. Everything I try to play on this guitar just feels right. The neck profile is very agreeable to me. Very thin and fast without getting too flat, and the alder body provides a pleasantly lightweight but highly resonant platform.

Anything I would change about this guitar is purely aesthetic. I'd maybe do away with the embossed LTD logo on the headstock and use a truss rod cover that doesn't have white lettering, but that's really splitting hairs. This guitar crushes everything even remotely comparable in the price range. If you're thinking about it, just buy it.

I love this fiddle.

The guitar for death & or black metal

This guitar is extremely light and comfortable and just BEGS for riffs. The Hipshot makes for great palm muting and the neck is thin and easy to get up and down. And don't even get me started on the pickup. It all comes down to personal preference but this pickup is DEFINITELY up there. My personal favorite and one of the reasons I bought this guitar. As a closing statement, this guitar is as good as you are imagining it to be.
