Aggressive Tone with Looks to Match
You don't need to sacrifice tone or style with the Jackson X Series Kelly KEXQ electric guitar. You've got two high-output Jackson humbucking pickups packed with an arsenal of aggressive tone. And you can dive-bomb to your heart's content, thanks to the Floyd Rose vibrato bridge/tailpiece. Best of all, the compound-radius fretboard means you'll have exceptional playability across the entire neck. Crank up your favorite amplifier, dig into a big fat chord, and the Kelly KEXQ will absolutely sing.
Looks as serious as it sounds
The Jackson X Series Kelly KEXQ's body shape — with sharp corners and an angular profile — exudes attitude. The guitar's body is crafted from poplar, which is one of the most popular body tonewoods among gainiac guitarists. Add to that an eye-catching quilted maple top, and you've got one looker of an axe. And though its appearance may be extreme, the Kelley KEXQ is extremely comfortable whether standing or sitting. And the guitar's bold look continues up the neck, with pearloid shark fin inlays spanning the fretboard. And the classic, pointed, 6-in-line headstock rounds out this mean-looking metal machine.
Floyd Rose for precise pitch control
In typical Jackson fashion, this incredible Kelly X was built with quality hardware onboard. That's why you'll find a Floyd Rose Special Tremolo double-locking vibrato bridge/tailpiece onboard. The Floyd Rose is recessed into the body, allowing for the ability to both raise and lower the pitch. And this recessed Floyd gives you the same feel as an original Floyd Rose, adding to the Kelly KEXQ's amazingly responsive feel.
Speedy neck for fast runs up the frets
The Kelly KEXQ features a 12"–16" compound-radius fretboard for ultimate playability. The fingerboard is rounder near the nut for easy chording and fast single-note riffing. As your playing moves up the fretboard, the radius flattens out to 16". Not only is this easier for high-speed runs, but a flatter radius is ideal for wide string bends and vibrato. Players at Sweetwater know that with a neck that plays this slick, you'll be up at the 24th fret before you know it.
