About as good as the 1200.

I've been a Dj for 30+ years using Technics 1200s and the PLX-1000 is about as good as the 1200. Sorry about it, but it is. Torque, stop/stop buttons, pitch control, lights, tonearm and adjustment features all perfect. I can't tell any difference in feel to the 1200. It looks beautiful. And it actually feels heavier and more 'solid' than a 1200. The only thing I cannot speak of obviously is reliability long-term. Ask me in ten years. The only odd thing is the +/- 50% or 16% pitch option. I'd never use or need that, maybe turntablists do. It has a +/- 8% like the 1200 and I stick with that. The 33/45 buttons don't feel as solid as the 1200, but are still just fine as they are. I needed a third deck... would have bought an old MK2/3/5 1200 but you don't know what you'll get as it's used, tonearms can be miscalibrated, other issues, shipping from strangers, etc. I wanted a 'new from the factory' option and the new Technics 1200 models look nice but are way more expensive than the PLX. Long story short the PLX-1000 is best deal for the money for a new, professional 1200-equivalent in the DJ world. As for the little brother PLX-500, I haven't tried that and it's probably fine for home listening but for DJing I'd go with the 1000.

Sound Stability

I bought two turntables at once the PLX-1000 and Another Technicast brand USB flagship turntable. I could not enjoy it as I could hear the wow & flutter all through the music. USB? High levels of wow & flutter? Laughable. LOL
It's not so enjoyable to those of us who can detect wow & flutter in our music so I gave it to my son because if he can't hear the level of wow & flutter I did then I guess he will be happy. To those of us who love and know great sound...
I'm using the Ortofon Omega Consumer Stylus OMG! you can't beat it for what it does and a great value.
I'm playing some old records, why can't I hear any pops and clicks???
The Ortofon is as smooth as a hot knife through butter.
And I'm using large Tri-amped JBL's big box cinema cabinets. 800 watts lows/ 300 watts mids/ 160 watts highs/ Stereo/RMS
I can rock the house loud, long and good before I get any feedback.
I've had this PLX-1000 in the box for a year and a half since I first got it but this week I hooked it up and Wow!
I mean I feel like I'm dang near playing my records with an analog precision musical instrument tool.
I got the PLX for deep focused listening to my records just below medium levels. Wow & Flutter on the PLX-1000 is like ten times lower than some brands in this same price range and I can hear the difference. Wow & Flutter should not be such a distraction that you have to try to ignore it just to get to the music consciously or subconsciously.
Sometimes it feels like I'm listening straight from the tape machine reels going round.
I can't wait to listen to my straight to disc recordings.
This is what a Record Player should sound like at the very least.
Some people are paying more for less but it only looks like they are getting more. I love this Product. You will too.
Buy the Pioneer PLX-1000 (It is just that great, punching high above it's weight) and price.

Pioneer PLX-1000 Turntable...FANTASTIC !!!

I ordered the Pioneer PLX-1000 Turntable with help from one of the Sweetwater Sales Engineers, Gage Massey. Gage took my order over the phone & made the experience Extremely Pleasant. I received the Shipment 4 days later & set it up immediately. Setup was very simple and I was enjoying my Vinyl again. This Turntable is AMAZING. For a Direct Drive Turntable it has as good or better specs as some Belt Drive Turntables in the same price range. It is Extremely Quiet & smooth operating. I LUV THIS THING !!! You need to buy your next turntable from Sweetwater & ask for Gage to help you. He will take very good care of you. Thanks Again Gage & Sweetwater.
