The Feature-rich Delay Your Pedalboard Has Been Waiting For

With four master algorithms — Digital, Analog, Lo-Fi, and Slap — the Walrus Audio ARP-87 multifunction guitar delay pedal covers a broad tonal spectrum. Its Digital setting delivers crystal-clear repeats that are ideal for rhythmic riffs. The Analog algorithm adds dimension and warmth to single-note lines and chords without muddying your tone. The Lo-Fi setting sports repeats with an adjustable frequency range for everything from bandwidth-challenged AM radio to full-on dark, filthy, and twisted. The ARP-87's Slap setting lets you easily dial in awesome slapback echo that's perfect for country chicken pickin’. Engineered with additional cool features such as tap tempo, smart bypass switching, and momentary knob ramp, the Walrus Audio ARP-87 delivers a myriad of tasty tonal options for your exploration.

The magic X knob

The Walrus Audio ARP-87 is spec'd with an innovative X knob that changes functionality depending on which algorithm you choose. Programmed to adjust a specific parameter in each algorithm, the X knob controls modulation depth in Digital, Analog, and Slap modes, and filter width in Lo-Fi mode. Sweetwater tip: changing delay types loads a new algorithm, and you must tap in your tempo again.

Got trails?

You can run the ARP-87 in trails or no-trails mode. Set to trails mode, the delay trails trail off naturally when you switch the pedal off. In no-trails mode, the delay trails are unceremoniously cut off when you switch off the ARP-87. Holding down the bypass switch for one second while applying power to the pedal toggles between the two modes.

Momentary functions

With the ARP-87's bypass switch in the off position, pressing and holding it temporarily activates the effect to add a momentary delay to your signal. When you release the switch, the effect turns off. While the effect is on, press and hold the bypass switch to momentarily ramp the X parameter to its maximum. Releasing the switch sets the X parameter back to the knob position setting. To temporarily ramp the feedback to maximum, press and hold the Tap switch; releasing it sets the feedback value to the knob position setting.

Walrus Audio: built by tone tweakers for tone tweakers

The artists, musicians, and engineers at Walrus Audio take pleasure in chasing sounds that inspire, like the perfect breakup of an overdrive, a beautifully thick distortion, an endlessly sustaining reverb, and a self-oscillating delay. Simply put, these guys love to play with sound. They design stompboxes that re-create the sonic textures that they hear in their heads. Built by tone tweakers for tone tweakers, Walrus Audio’s guitar pedals are as versatile as they are functional. Complete with eye-grabbing graphics, Walrus Audio’s pedals are the perfect tools for guitarists who want to sculpt their own unique sounds.

Crazy Train

If you don't mind being rewarded for spending some time for really dialing in the pedal to get some amazing sounds that are not cookie cutter this is the pedal for you.. yes you can get the U2 sound with some patience..lol..the Lo-fi setting is worth the price of admission alone. Big shout out to the Walrus team. They send the pedals in premium bag which is silky and soft and does the nob of protecting you investment outta the box. Due to mishap with other pedals and moving I needed 5 bags to cover other pedals I am OCD.. I emailed Walrus to purchase them..and they responded immediately for shipping address and send the bags %Free% of charge FEDEX 2 day!..Thats saying something in this world of greed. To help a living room Rockstar that works hard for every Sweetwater purchase he does. This is the type of company I think all pedal manufactures should strive to be. Thank you Walrus for protecting my dreams and Sweetwater for financing them! Fantastic customer service from both ends!

Walrus Audio Customer Service is awesome!

I love this pedal and use it in tandem with the Walrus SLO, Walrus Fathom and Earthquaker Space Spiral pedals for praise and worship music. I purchased 2 Arp 87's recently for my electric and acoustic boards. One of them was used from a local pawn shop. I was in a hurry and didn't check out the pedal before buying it. (Buyer beware!) I tested it at home and found that it had a scratchy "Level" pot. So, I contacted Walrus Audio Support to see if they would fix it. They did! I shipped it to them and they didn't charge me anything for the repair or return shipping! They even shipped it via 2-Day Fedex! They didn't have to do this. I call that great customer service!!

Love this Delay pedal!

I was searching for a basic delay pedal for my board and discovered the ARP-87. I love this pedal. The digital and analog delays are great but the real fun begins when you start using the LoFi and Slapback modes. The dampen and X knobs really allow you to dial in your sounds. I pair the LoFi with my BigSky cloud reverb and what an amazing combination. The sonuds are heavenly. The onboard tap tempo is a must for me and this is perfect. Stays on tempo.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Charlie Davis

After buying it, the Walrus Audio ARP-87 quickly became my go-to delay. Between the different modes, modulation, and the tone control, I can get a huge variety of sounds out of it. I run two on my board set differently and they cover all of my delay needs.

Tim Vanderpoel

I have been playing guitar for over 15 years. Much of the music I enjoy playing relies on heavy use of delay. For many years I used a classic analog delay pedal. I loved the sound most of the time but wished it had more options. I finally delved into the world of digital delay with the ARP-87. Its various modes and tap tempo have proven to be the ultimate tool for shaping awesome sounds with supreme convenience.
