Working great, noise floor solved.

Received the unit ysterday and it was a bit tricky to figure out at first but now it's working great.

I'm using it with UEPro7 IEMs. (Highly recommended)

This unit was designed to be used with quality IEMs; I'm sure the included earbuds are just there for someone wanting to make sure the unit works out of the box. I'm glad I didn't have to pay extra for slightly better earbuds that I really don't need. If you do want better earbuds, the Shure 215s are a solid bet. If you are going to spend more than that, get some IEMs. The difference in comfort, sound, and isolation is astounding at first, then becomes hardly noticeable.

I haven't tried them playing out yet, but putting in a review now to help others fix that noise floor problem.

One thing about noise floor: yes, this will be a problem if your earbuds, like mine, are very sensitive. This happens because the volume knob on the IEM is too low. The nose is always at "1" regardless of where you have the knob, so you need to turn up the knob to drown it out. The fix is simple: add an inline attenuator where you plug your earbuds into the IEM receiver. I already use such an attenuator everywhere I plug my IEMs in anyway (not just with the Sennheiser G4), and I find that it works well with the G4 too. The attenuator makes it so I can turn the volume up and get well past the noise floor on my iphone, focusrite computer interface, and, yes, the G4 IEM too. I have the "iFi Ear Buddy", which has a -16dB attenuation, and the noise is hardly noticeable, but I can still only turn up to about 4; I am going to next try the "iEMatch" for a -24 dB attenuation, which may work even better.

Excellent

Excellent I love it.. Would definitely research it and learn how to operate before you write a review.
some of these reviews are just lack of understanding the product. If your looking for a great IEM system i highly recommend this one. If you don't know how to set it up hire someone to do it for you and train you. Investing in yourself and future is well worth it...

Excellent, with a few exceptions

The system has worked great for me so far. The sound quality is fantastic, battery life surprisingly good, and everything appears built to last. However, there are a few things that just left me scratching my head, and asking, “really Sennheiser?“

For instance, it comes with a really nice rack mount kit. The antenna output is on the back of the device, so if you’re going to rack mount it, you’ll obviously need a cable to allow you to relocate the antenna. I searched through the box and packing material looking for the cable, to no avail. Finally I checked the manual, and nope, it is not included. Really Sennheiser? That’s a bit silly, considering if you rack mount this device, the antenna definitely needs to be moved to the front.

The other thing is that the included earbuds must be the crappiest ones available. Considering the system is made by a company legendary for their fantastic headphones, earbuds, and microphones, it's a head scratcher. They perform so poorly that if they were all you had to work with, they would give the initial impression that this $1000 wireless system is junk. It's not; it's just that at $1000, you’re not done yet. Get a good set of IEM earbuds, and you will be very happy. Don't even bother taking the included ones out of the plastic, they are that disappointing.

Overall, you can't go wrong with this system, if you take these caveats into consideration.

what floor monitors?

Yes...this paired with the westone am30 is the magic combination. IE4 earbuds are good but the westone is just taking it to another level. This combination truly makes an IEM system equal to live monitors but in many ways even better due to the best of both worlds blend of raw live sound and the precision of in ear mixing.

But what can i say about my sales engineer Zach Garrison. He is a big reason I come back to sweetwater. I cant say if others are as lucky but I know Zach gives the best service and deal hands down. A no nonsense deal is what I like and Zach knows how to oblige.

Great Product!

I did not give 5 stars just because I use the equipment attached to a rack with a power conditioner, the problem is the AC Power Adapter, there's no way you connect it without occupying the extra slot. Other than that, great product, easy to set up, body pack well constructed, durability is important.
